Release Information is Confusing

Post by prateek » Fri Nov 03, 2017 7:15 am

When I take a look at this: https://github.com/jfree/jfreechart/com ... b285078036 , it suggests that 1.5.0 has been released but the readme file on github (https://github.com/jfree/jfreechart/blo ... /README.md) and the release link https://github.com/jfree/jfreechart/releases suggest otherwise.

You are right, it is confusing. The latest release for JFreeChart is 1.0.19 as of now (so the release tags are correct).

Yesterday I released JFreeChart 1.5.0, so now that's the latest release. Amongst other things, this release drops the requirement for JCommon (by moving a subset of the JCommon classes into the JFreeChart jar file) and moves JavaFX support into a separate project (JFreeChart-FX). In addition, the builds are streamlined by dropping Ant support (just Maven is used now) and moving demo code into external projects.
