Licence Question

Post by Robert Eli » Thu Apr 26, 2001 6:20 pm

I've read the Lesser GPL, and would like to verify that I correctly understand the terms before using JFreeChart in my application. I would like to use JFreeChart with in a propritary, close source, non-retail commerical program. I would use only the compiled library, with no modifications. If I understand the licence correctly, the Lesser GPL does allow this as long as one :

1. Places appropriate copyright notices for JFreeChart within the application.
2. Distributes, or offers to distribute, the source code of JFreeChart with the application.
3. Distributes, or links to, the Lesser GPL, which applies to JFreeChart.

Please let me know if I understand correctly. I want to be very careful so as to not violate anyone's rights.

Thanks,
-Rob

Hi Rob,

Your understanding is good, and I appreciate the fact that you've taken the time to understand the licence.

Good luck with your development, and let me know if you find/fix any bugs in JFreeChart...

Regards,

DG.
