Connection with user interface generated in java with iRepor

hello friends,
i have designed one user interface, which takes criteria for report.
i have desinged that report in iReport.
but what i want to do is, whatever the criteria i will pass through
interface the query should be generated and report should be generated.
What can i do for passing this criteria (attributes) to iReprot at runtime.
How can i connect to iReport at runtime.
