Grid lines on area graphs

Post by Anu » Fri Aug 02, 2002 5:19 pm

David,

I remember sometime back when we were asking you about vertical grid lines on an area graph, you told us that somebody had given you some code for this. I was just wondering if you had any plans to put it in your next release, if so, when should we expect it.

Thanks for your time,

Anu.

Hi Anu,

I wonder if I meant the area chart generated with the XYPlot? There are two demo applications, AreaChartDemo and AreaChartForCategoryDataDemo, which show the two different area charts. The first one (using XYPlot/XTDataset) has vertical grid lines...I've just updated the samples page to include an example:

Dave,

the problem is with any chart that uses Categorydataset, it does not have vertical grid lines, be it area category or line category. Please correct me if mistaken. Also, please let me if there is solution to this.

Thanks,

Anu.

You are correct...with category plots there is currently no grid drawn against category axes. It probably wouldn't be that difficult to add, but I won't have a chance to look at it for another week...
