Problem with axis

Hi, i`m a newbie of JFreeCart.
I have a few problem and i hope that we help me.
It`s possible set the Axis (lowerBound and Upper Bound) by a number contained on a variable?
And the scale?

Excuse me for the small caos and for my english but I`m new and I try to explain the problem event if difficult for me.
I have a spectrum analyzer and I communicate without problems using JNI and interface Java.
Consequently I can obtain vary datas for example centre frequency, span, trace and so on.
On the spectrum`s monitor is visualized a trace.
The problem is: I would to visualize the trace on my computer, for example when I pressed a button I obtain one "photo" of the trace.
Now i`m concentrated to set the range axis.
There are a method for read the parameter on a variable and therefore build the y axis?
Through a function I received the reference Level (Y axis of the spectrum monitor) on a format string and now?
I hope that I have been more clear.
