select region for zoom

Currently selecting zoom in/out uses a set region centered at the point of where the mouse is. Is it possible to highlight a region(rectangle) to define the boundaries of the zoom?

Yes, try the MouseZoomDemo in the com.jrefinery.chart.demo package, I think it does this.
