when i try to save the image generated (by right-click and save image as), i can only do it thanks to a .bmp image, how to save in jpg or gif?

I'm using Mozilla 0.9.8 (on Linux) and it works fine saving a chart as a JPEG file. So I think you might need to update your web browser.
