Welcome To Orson Chart Beans!
Orson is a free collection of charting components, designed according to the JavaBeans(tm) specification and backed by the popular JFreeChart library. Orson is aimed at Swing application developers that want easy access to the core features of JFreeChart but without the need to learn all the intricacies of the JFreeChart API. Orson features:
- support for pie charts, bar charts, scatter plots, time series charts and area charts;
- interactive features including tooltips, zooming and "clickable" charts;
- business-friendly open source licensing under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public Licence (LGPL) enabling the use of Orson/JFreeChart in proprietary applications.
Please note that Orson is currently under development and that the API is subject to change until a stable "1.0.0" release is made.
The Project
Orson is being developed by David Gilbert, the author of JFreeChart. The project is hosted at SourceForge.
Funding
There's no funding. Orson is built, maintained and supported by volunteers. We welcome enquiries from sponsors willing to fund the development work.
