combined plots and CategoryDatasets

Now it isn't possible to use combined plots with any of the plots that are based on the CategoryDataset.
Will this be implemented in the future? Or do you really have to switch to XY plots in this case?

I think it is something that ought to be done, but it isn't in my plans right now.
