Plotting labels INSTEAD of bars

Hi ! Great work and I learned a lot from it !

I want to extend VerticalXYRenderer so that it plots some letters/labels instead of bars. I'm trying to plot Point & Figure charts for the stocks. These charts have X's and O's instead of the bars. something like

O

any pointers ?
