How to get an upgrade

Post by JasperJaguar » Sun May 01, 2005 3:36 am

Hi David,
I've previously purchased the guide(that is for 0.9.20 version), could I get a free upgrade? If I could, how? I didn't find a way to get that.

Thanks,
Paul

Yes, you can download updates for one year after purchase. The URL, username and password supplied in the purchase confirmation e-mail remains valid. If you've lost these details, please contact me directly.

JFreeChart Developer Guide

Post by mingjade » Mon Aug 15, 2005 3:28 am

Hello David,

We would like to check out from you whether this JFreeChart Developer Guide will teach us how to build the chart using data from database and not using the hardcode data? Besides, we would like to know this guide to guide us to build multiple graph in one chart. Please let us know as soon as possible since we are still considering whether to purchase or not.

Thanks.
Regards,
Mingjade

Hello,

I'm sorry but your Developper's guide is really bad. It's too expensive, and the content is very, very, VERY limited. You teach the bases, OK, but for advanced options, there is nothing !

YEAH I SUCCEED DOING A PIECHART ! And then ? I can't do anything with it...

I feel swindled...

Congratulations.

Isn't that up to you? What would you like to do with the chart? Remember: there's always the (free) javadoc

For many advanced options, the demonstration applications are helpful (the source code for all the demos is available on the same download page as the guide). As I work on the guide, I'm adding references to the names of the relevant demo applications, to make it easier to find good working examples for each feature.

It's helpful to get feedback on the areas in the guide that need better coverage. If you have the time, please tell me the features you are interested in seeing more coverage and / or examples for.

(I don't speak English, so be lenient... )

You should explain a little more how to customize the charts. In fact I work with Time Series Chart, and my customer would like to customize the chart as he wishes (with JCheckBox and others), for example align the axis, add symbol (the little point on the line), format the axes, change the color, etc. etc.

(I've choosen the more easiest examples, because my English sucks  )

I've found how to do for some of them by myself... but personnaly I would like more informations about the functions. Of course not all ! but the most important of them.

If you do that, I will become again a happy customer :D

Thank you

@Michael :

yes I know ! but when I don't know what I sould use, the javadoc is useless !
