Hi,
I've been trying to create some overlaid area charts and I'm having some problems with getting the display the way that I would like it. The kind of graphy I want to create is exactly what you would get when you create the standard area charts with Microsoft Excel.
My problem is that when I add one series on top of another, I can't see them very clearly. I've tried playing with the setForegroundAlpha methods and the colours of the series, but they didn't do much. Area charts overlaid on each other merge colours and it's hard to distinguish which series is which.
I've tried this with an overlaidXYPlot, overlaidCategoryPlot, and even a stackedAreaChart created by ChartFactory. The stackedareachart came closest to what I would like, but it's still not quite right, since the series don't seem to share the same y-axis, even though they were set to it. These series represent percentages of a whole, and in the stacked area chart, the highest series rises to over 100, which they shouldn't.
I'd really appreciate any help in trying to create, what I guess is some kind of overlaid plot that resembles the look of the stacked area chart.
Thanks very much,
mina.

Re: overlaid area charts
Hi Mina,
Can you send me a screen shot of the Excel chart? It's a while since I used Excel, and I never really used the charts so I don't know what the Excel area chart looks like.
I'm going to take a look at the stacked area chart now and see what might be going wrong with it. It's code that I haven't looked at closely before.
Regards,
DG
