The only information I can share with you about applications that use JFreeChart is the "Third Party Software Incorporating JFreeChart" list that you will find on the JFreeChart home page. I'd like to extend that list, if there is anyone willing to forward their details for inclusion.
The 0.9.4 release has had about 15,000 downloads over a three month period. There were no major problems with that release, so that is the one I would recommend if you want stability.
The 0.9.5 release (latest) has some significant API changes (including the introduction of dual axes), and has been out for about one week now (about 2,000 downloads). There are a couple of significant bugs in the release, that are now fixed in CVS.
0.9.6 will be released within the next week.
