renderer method call taking time in version 11

why setSeriesItemLabelsVisible(int,boolean),setSeriesItemLabelPaint(int,Color),..... methods are taking more time in version 11 than version 9???each method call for renderer(i checked for bar chart) is taking more than 1.6 ms ...before when i was using version 9 ..it was 0.0 ms...now if the no of series is more...the chart is taking more time to show up...i can go and can finish a coffee to see the chart....any suggestions??any optimizations possible
